A Thank You Note

I just want to say thanks to everyone who checks my blog and called us today to tell me how great I look on TV. Mom says you need to stop though, something about a 4 month old with an ego as big as mine isn't healthy. Whatever, I'm as healthy as a horse...er, um dog. I saw the comment from Lois and just wanted to say thanks to you and your buds for brainstorming and trying to help us out! Anyone with any ideas (any ideas, I mean that, even stupid ones...cause you never know what might pan out...Mom was going to suggest the field where we play, but it doesn't have heat and AC) please contact Nancy and tell her about them.

Well I'm off to bed. We have a big weekend, Ringo is gonna be chllin' with us!

Everyone, thanks again, really!

On a side note, Mom thinks I should start talking about my training. Apparently this blog isn't just supposed to be me ranting all the time and showing off. (HA!) So I'll maybe post a bit this weekend about my mad rockstar skills...you know I got 'em!

Me on TV...does it get better than that?

So here's the link to our TV news spot:

http://www.wgal.com/video/19027773/index.html

Mom and I want to thank Jason Bugg from WGAL for sending this to us! You're a rockstar dude!

I'M A TV STAR!!!!!!

OH MY GOD!!!! I WAS ON TV!!!!! FOR LIKE-E V E R!!

For those who don't know, we had the channel 8 news crew at our puppy class Wednesday night. Here's an email that Nancy sent Mom, it'll give you the low down on why they were there:

Dear SSD awesome volunteer,

In the next few weeks I will be coming to all of you for various reasons. First I am looking for space for puppy class. With the economy SSD and I need your help

We are currently down 1 ½ people who would be trainers. We need to help the current staff provide high quality puppy classes. We can best do this with two or three trainers working with specially trained volunteers. We can then hold small classes, several at one time. We currently are using the conference room at Keystone Children & Family Services. This space is filled with stuffed chairs and large tables that are moved to the side for each class but still utilize a lot of the space and then there is the carpet. SSD causes a lot of wear and tear to this surface. We need a better suited site for puppy classes.

Please help us find the right place. Somewhere in the greater Harrisburg Area is a place that we can use that would work. It would be awsesome if it was long term but just for 4 or 5 months would also be great Please think about this and ask around. We have over 40 puppies and dogs that will be attending and we need help!!

What we need in a site:

At least 2 areas/spaces 800 to 1,000 square feet each, three would be awesome

Within 15 miles + or – of 3700 Vartan Way Harrisburg PA 17110

Heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer

Parking on site for 20 cars at one time

Available weekly in the evening from 6 pm to 9 pm, currently we prefer Wednesday evening

Preferably a floor surface that is not rug

Fairly empty so we would have use of the entire space without moving tons of furniture nightly

Available for free or for little cost.

Puppies and dogs sometimes bark and we do not want to be in a location where occasional barking will cause a problem.

If you have any ideas or connections, please call – the kennel at 717-599-5920 or email me at nfierer@keystonehumanservices.org

Thank you so much for your suggestions- I know out there someone knows the perfect place.

Thanks, nancy

So as you can see, we're in some serious need here! If anyone has any suggestions, please, refer to Nancy's e-mail above for contact info and help us out!!

Anyway, like I was saying... I WAS ON TV!!! The news guy was there when we got to class and they took video of me, Sunshine and Star playing before class. Then they got video of me and Mom (she's telling me what a Rockstar I am, in case you were curious) and even of Denver. Mom does a voice over and they showed us at the end. They showed part of the interview that they filmed of us. Mom sent an email to the station hoping to get a copy of it to post here. If we can't get that, again hopefully, we'll get a link that we can post so everyone can see it. For now Mom has it on DVR (she's been recording all the news since last night so she didn't miss it!) and is going to try and find a way to copy it.

But whatever comes of it I just thought you guys should know...I AM A ROCKSTAR and now A TV STAR!!!

4 Months!

I'm thinking it might be time to change the blog a bit. Update the header picture and whatnot. I'm so NOT a baby anymore (despite what Mom likes to think) what do you guys think? Keep them or update?

This is me and Monkey.
This is why Mom hates it when I'm under her desk. I knock things loose and turn off one of her monitors all the time... she overreacts a bit if you ask me...

PawsAbilities...the aftermath

OH MY! What a weekend! Newfounlands, German Shepards and Great Danes--oh my! It was just crazy! Sunshine, Journey, Star, Scarlett (aka Mom), Ringo--everyone was there! I don't know where to start...hmm...how about the beginning...

Crack of dawn, and I'm so not kidding. Sun wasn't even up yet! Mom is running around getting me snacks and my lunch and dinner in to go bags. She got my tent together and we were on our way. (By the way, the sun was just BARELY coming up.) We picked up Aunt Ari and went to the Farm Show. There were already a bunch of people there. Mom set us up next to where Aunt Susan had Sunshine set up. She's always so mean to me. She was yelling at me from her crate. My real Mom was there too. She didn't seem to care one way or another that I was there.

I didn't want to be in my tent so I started to yell at Mom and got her to take me around so that I could see everything. There were lots of dogs and people. We walked around and hung out for a bit. Then Mom put me back in the tent and went to go work on her games. After a bit Robbie came and kidnapped me and Sunshine. We all got in a big playpen with Star and got to rough house for a while. Mom found me an hour or so later. I didn't really notice, I was busy with the girls and trying to win the war. (I may have lost some battles, but the war is HARDLY over!) Mom left, I think she was still busy with the games, and I just stayed with my sisters.

After lunch Mom and I had to go on stage with Linzey to talk about what Mom does (rasing me and such). I was a rockstar, how could I not be? It just comes naturally for someone like me. I was laying down on the stage and being very...well...rockstarish. Linzey was WAY happy about just how much of a rockstar I was.

There were SO MANY DOGS THERE!! Sunday was pretty much the same deal. Early morning, long day. Mom and I both crashed big time when we got home.

I got to wear my harness on stage Sunday. That's how well behaved Mom said I was. She was talking to Michelle, Ringo's Mom, and saying how when we went to Wal-Mart is was a disaster and she was afraid to take me into stores. Well Michelle told Mom to do it anyway because she didn't ever take Ringo anywhere and now he's bad in stores. So...I got to go to the grocery store...TWICE! That's right, I was so good the first time, Mom took me again the next day! Seriously, I don't care if you're tired of hearing this, I dare anyone to argue with me... I AM A R O C K S T A R!!!

So that was the weekend. It was great fun had by all. Mom got some pictures of the Limbo, but not much else. She was busier than she thought she would be. I'll post her Limbo pictures separate. But I did want to add some pics of me to this post...just cause.

This is me and my Lena. She comes and checks on me while Mom's at work sometimes. Not so much anymore now that I'm all grown up and don't need checkin' on no more though...

Remember this? That was on my 3 month birthday....

This is today. Just a week shy of 4 months...

Taking a poll...

So, Mom thinks I've entered into some kind of awkward stage. She says my ears are too big and my face is too long. That I'm gangly. Gotta love those sweet pep talks that Mom's give, huh? So here I am, putting it to a vote. What do you guys think?

Growing Boy!

Just came back from the vet, 33 pounds!! I got my final wave of shots and was told that my overbite was going to prevent me from doing fine motor movements with my mouth...whatever that means. I can handle things with my mouth just fine! Ask Teddy and Piggy, I carry them around with no problems!

When we got to the vet, I showed off to Mom, jumping out of the car by myself.

Mom rearranged the living room so that I can have my bed and my tent in there and not be in her way. She also got me a new little bed for inside the tent because the one that I had went into my new kennel (stupid box) that she brought home for me. At least I can stretch out in this one though, so it's not as bad.

I'm getting geared up for PawsAbilities, are you?! I can't wait! Mom says it's going to be crazy fun. What with all the dogs and everything and the stuff to do...yea it's going to be nuts! Mom is helping with the Olympics. She said she's going to be Robin to Kara's Batman. Cyclops to her Professor Xavier.

Anyway, like I said, it's going to be great. But now I have to go because Mom has to get ready for work and needs to check her school pages first. You guys have a good week, I'll see you at PawsAbilities!
